When to evaluate Uptime Kuma

Evaluate Uptime Kuma when controlling your own installation and infrastructure is a priority and you can operate it independently from the services it watches.

Questions to answer before subscribing

  • Who will apply monitoring updates, restore backups and investigate failed notifications?
  • Could the same infrastructure failure take down both the site and its monitoring host?
  • How will you provide separate access and recurring evidence to each customer?

Test with your own endpoints

Run both services on a small set of endpoints you control. Match the interval, timeout, expected status, content assertion and alert recipient. Include a read-only authenticated API check if you need it.

  1. Compare successful observations and response-time variation.
  2. Trigger a controlled failure and recovery; compare the incident and notification timestamps.
  3. Review unknown measurements and maintenance handling.
  4. Open the report as a client with limited access and check what they can see.
  5. Confirm retention, recurring cost and cancellation before moving your monitoring.

Polling interval and notification time differ: confirmation, processing and message delivery add delay. An execution allowance is also different from a monitor allowance; frequent browser checks use more monthly executions.

Our current public coverage is one deployment. Browser monitoring is active on Business and higher, within the published quotas. SMS, voice and simultaneous multi-region checks are not sold. See all plan limits and our comparison methodology.
