TXT record lookup
Confirm that a verification or policy record is live before clicking "verify" in a vendor dashboard.
How it measures
- The query goes to the chosen public resolver with a 4-second timeout.
- TXT records longer than 255 bytes are returned as several strings by DNS; they are joined here as receivers do.
Limits
- Resolver caches apply; a record you just published may take up to its previous TTL to appear.
- Interpretation of the content (for example SPF validity) is left to the dedicated SPF and DMARC tools.
Troubleshooting
- DKIM selector returns no records
- Check the exact selector name in your sending service and that the record was created at selector._domainkey.<domain>, not at the apex.
