CNAME lookup
Verify custom-domain and CDN aliases without guessing which record the provider needs.
How it measures
- The CNAME record for the exact name is fetched from the chosen resolver and normalized.
- Switch the type to A or AAAA to see the addresses the alias eventually resolves to.
Limits
- Only one level is shown; chained CNAMEs need a second lookup of the target.
- A name with an A record and no CNAME correctly returns no records; that is not an error.
Troubleshooting
- No records for a name that should alias
- The record may have been created as an A record, or at the wrong name. Apex names cannot carry a CNAME; use the provider's A/ALIAS instructions.
