IPv6 readiness checker

Know whether IPv6-only networks can reach your site and mail before a customer on such a network tells you.

Anonymous checks are limited to 10 per minute and 60 per hour per address. Results are cached for 60 seconds and not published anywhere.

How it measures

  • A and AAAA records are fetched for the name; the zone's NS records and the domain's MX hosts (up to four each) are resolved for AAAA.
  • Each AAAA value is classified; non-global addresses are flagged.

Limits

  • DNS publication only: whether the servers actually answer over IPv6 is not tested from this location.
  • A dual-stack record set with a broken IPv6 path still looks fine here.

Troubleshooting

AAAA present but IPv6 visitors report errors
The address is published but the service is not listening or the firewall drops IPv6. Test from an IPv6-enabled network or a monitoring location with IPv6.
