NS record lookup
Confirm a DNS provider migration took effect and that the expected servers are delegated.
How it measures
- NS records are fetched from the chosen resolver and normalized (lower-case, sorted, trailing dots removed).
- Switch to SOA to see the primary server, hostmaster and refresh timers of the zone.
Limits
- The resolver's view can lag behind a registrar change by up to the TTL at the parent zone, often 48 hours.
- The parent (registry) delegation is not queried directly; use the propagation checker to compare with an authoritative server.
Troubleshooting
- Old provider's servers still listed
- The registrar delegation was not updated or is still propagating. Check the registrar panel; the parent zone TTL decides how long old answers survive.
