Redirect chain checker
Find redirect loops, unnecessary hops that slow pages down, and HTTPS to HTTP downgrades.
How it measures
- Up to ten hops are followed; every destination is validated before connecting.
- Sensitive headers would be stripped on cross-origin hops exactly as our monitors do.
Limits
- JavaScript and meta-refresh redirects are not followed; only HTTP 3xx responses.
- Loops longer than ten hops are reported as too many redirects.
Troubleshooting
- Protocol downgrade
- A redirect sends visitors from HTTPS to HTTP. Fix the target URL so the chain stays encrypted.
- Too many redirects
- Two rules redirect to each other. Compare web server and CDN rules.
